Sleep doesn't have anything to do with hunger or your illness, but it's good to get eight hours of it. I think being a veggie has to do with your iron deficiency, so your doctor will tell you a recommended solution for that. EAT! You're only further increasing your chance of fainting AGAIN by not eating. It's not fair to your body.

How to introduce cats?

Recently i have come into a difficult situation that has caused me and my 2 male cats (both 2yrs old and neutered) to move back home with my mother and her female cat (spayed and about 7yrs old). we had to make this move quickly and couldn’t slowly introduce them as we would have liked. all 3 cats are indoor cats although Jack, my dominate one, likes to sneak out when he can. we thought maybe he would like to be outdoors since he doesn’t get along with Eve, the older female, but this isnt working. of course he is used to being inside the majority of the time and he isnt enjoying the outdoors. my mother is concerned for her older cat because she is temperamental and declawed...she may be able to entice a fight but she wouldnt be ale to finish it also she has been the only 4-legged animal in the home for years. do you have any tips to make this temporary living situation go smoother?

Which netbook should I get for college?

I had a Dell Inspiron 14 laptop, but recently I built my own gaming computer, which is very powerful and I have no doubt is good for school. I take notes on Microsoft OneNote though, and I feel like since I have this desktop now, there's no need for this 15" (I know it's still small) laptop to lug around, especially if I am carrying a lot of books. The battery power is also getting lower and lower each month, it has a 9-cell battery, and I am now only getting about 2 hrs. of battery time before I have to charge. My cat will no longer share the litterbox?

my 2 yr old siamese mix Bailey had penil removal surgery due to a scarred urethra 3 months ago. for about 6 wks before the surgery I had him segregated from my other cat because he couldn't control his urination. He now has normal urinary function and I have been able to get him to go back in the littermaid if I lock him in the bathroom with it. This doesn't work well for me because I also have an orange tabby Tiger who also needs to use the box. Tiger has been taking a very long time to forgive Bailey for his absence. So Bailey keeps peeing on rugs or clothing that is lying on the floor. I have purchased feliway and odor removers in hopes of getting him back to the box. I even got an additive that is supposed to attract the cat to the litterbox. I really don't want to get another box because, 1: Another littermaid is too expensive. 2: We go away on various weekend trips and have no family to look after the box which is why I got the littermaid in the first place. Can my father sue his surgeon for not doing the procedure discussed?

Hello, I'm just wondering if you or your father has asked the surgeon about his reasons for doing what he did instead of what he had described previously? Sometimes when they already have a patient opened up they realise that it's not suitable to do what they had planned, so they improvise. Obviously if they haven't "fixed" the problem you should go back and talk over what pain he is still experiencing with the surgeon and work out a better pain management plan. I'm not sure about the legalities of this situation, but I personally would not pursue it legally. But I ume you live in the US, and I believe people there do take a lot more legal action than where I live, so it's worth a shot. Would you be aiming to get compensation? O.K. none of the drugs you mentioned are known to me. Are you in England or Australia? I ask because the only reference I saw was to Endone. Panadene Forte sounds similar to an anti-inflammatory/muscle relaxant that used to be prescribed here in the USA. I fractured C-6 many years ago and damaged my spinal cord. I also have an old fracture at T-8 (mid back) and similar problems to you at L4-L5/S1. That is the clic low back pain area. My situation cannot be repaired surgically. I take 30 mg morphine SR tabs and Hydrocodone ES 10 mg/650 mg APAP for my severe, chronic pain. I also have been taking Diazepam for years for both muscle spasms and to help me sleep. You can try physical therapy but it sounds as if you are a candidate for a surgical procedure to alleviate the pressure on the nerves. The WebMD link below takes you to the Back pain Center. There are many different surgical procedures. Disc herniations can sometimes be repaired using microdiskectomy surgical techniques. They remove the part of the herniated disc that is causing the nerve pressure. My ex girlfriend had an artificial disc put in her back and it did not work so I would avoid that procedure. I have been dealing with my spinal cord injury for 30 years so I know quite a bit about it. Check the WebMD back pain guide. It gives you all the options. You might look into chiropractic help as they might be able to align your spine to relieve the pressure. If I can help you feel free to email me. A good temp for ball pythons is between 80 and 90. So the temp were you live is perfect for them, you might not need a lamp at all. Pythons are cold blooded so they use ambient heat to warm up. A snake knows when its needs to warm up and cool down, all you need it to provide an area for both. Put a thermometer on both sides of the tank, keep one side warm,mid 80s to high 90s, and the other cool mid 70s to mid 80s. so since your room temp is in the 80s 90s, what you should do is put a hide in the corner of your tank, and put a heating pad underneath it. That should make the hides inside temp about 5 to 10 degrees higher. When you get your snake, after a few days when it settles down, keep track on wich side it stays on. If it's always in the warm hide, it might be too cold in there, and vise virsa for the other side. Even if the temp is just right, it might not switch sides that often, sometimes spending a whole day on one. Keep an eye on it for a week, then make any changes neccesary. Fake gr, not a good substrate, Aspen snake bedding is no doubt the best, its soft, safe, and lets the snake borrow if needed, but not the only choice. News papers. paper towels are a cheap way to go, there's also a type of reptile "astro turf" product that works well, I forgot the name of it though. Plastic containers are usable, but not the best choice, as long as its big enough for the snake and the lids stays on well, but DO NOT use heating pads on them, they'll melt. I would highly reccomend a aquarium tank, atleast a 20 long. They even make tank just for reptiles, look for them at a pet store.

My 16 year old pony has leg problems...?

He's a POA gelding, 16 yrs. old, blind, very very rarely ridden because of his impairment (he's uncomfortable with it), and yet he has something going on in his legs. A few weeks ago I noticed he was limping so I went out and checked his leg for heat. It was his front left leg and there wasn't any heat on it at all. I ran my hand up and down it and then felt for tenderness. He didn't react to my squeezing his leg at all, but I felt some odd squishy-ness in his lower part of his cannon bone. I soaked his leg with cold water to make the slight swelling/squishy-ness go down and it did a few days later and he quit limping. Two days ago I was feeding hay and saw him limping again so I went out to feel his leg. It was his other leg this time and closer to his ankle. Again, it wasn't hot, but it was squishy like there's fluid in it or something. This does sound like wind-galls, but that usually comes from the horse being worked too hard or on hard ground and he never gets worked at all! His feet are a little long, but we're getting the farrier out soon. Do you think this will help much or should I just wait for it to go away? This has never happened to him before and I really want to know what it is! Thanks for you help.

Okay, I love my little fuzzies, and I've tried a lot of different ferret foods, trying to find the best. My vet recommended that I give them wellness core, and they seem to like it ,as does my cat. Its nice, since I'm not always having to defend the ferret food from her,but there are still fillers in the food (admittedly, much less than other foods). Going crazy for macaroni and cheese. But I have a bad reaction to milk products. What can I do?

Like clockwork, every time I have a product with an ingredient such as milk/cheese/dairy/cream in it I get a pimple. As long as I avoid it I have a 100% clear face. I have a milk product I get a pimple within 12 hours or less. I'm losing my mind though! I need some macaroni and cheese! The dog over the fence got into my yard and attacked my dog?

next doors dog got into our yard. Both dogs are similar in size, mine is a pit bull, mastiff x theirs looks to be something similar. It some how got into our yard and attacked our dog (who was chained up because he was sick with parvo and he digs out sometimes and we did not want him to get it again) A guy (that was not the owner ) jumped over after the dog and was trying to pull them apart. I was inside bathing my 1 yr old when i heard the noise, i went to the window and seen the 2 dogs going for it and the man trying to pull them apart. He started yelling at me to help and grab my dogs chain and pull him away, but i had to get my son out of the bath first. any way our dog had some cuts on his head above his eye that got infected and he had to go on a course of antibiotics. the antibiotics ended up costing $66. The money is not a big deal though our cat has gone missing and i now have not seen him in over a week. And i think i heard one of them say something about the cat to someone else over the fence oneday when i was hanging out some washing. but i cant be sure. another thing is some times when the back door is open my 1yr old likes to go out side and wander about (which should not be a problem the yard is baby proof high fences and a gate that is locked almost all the time) i am terrified that this dog will get into the yard and if it got my son im more than sure he could kill him i should not have to worry about this happening its my backyard where children are ment to play! is there any thing i can do ?

Ok.. so I'm 27. I'm a paralegal at a local law firm that my boss took over from his dad. A little over 5 years ago I moved to the city I live in now (not really big either) to be with my fiance (we'll call him Jon) who I then married. We met in college... So the next morning I go to work and tell my boss (the attorney I work for.. we'll call him Alex) that I'm going to have to quit and I'd only be able to work a couple more days.. I explain the situation and he makes me an offer that I take him up on. He's also handling my divorce proceedings. Before I tell you the offer I'll tell you why I took him up on it. I had no real friends here that I could turn to. They were mutual friends of me and my husband and he's known them longer.. So I wasn't going to make them pick sides. Second, my family lives 7 hours away.. I hadn't kept in touch with hardly any friends and its a small town hurting for jobs. So, the offer was: he would let me move in with him (yes he's single) till I found a place to go, rent free. He and I have become friends since I started working here 4 and a half years ago so I thought nothing of it. So I've been living with him for a little over 4 months now and my husband (soon to be ex) is starting to spread rumors about me saying I was cheating on him with Alex all along.. My husband of over 2 years has NEVER lied to me before. But today, he told me he wanted to go to the mountains to see how pretty the snow is up there. We took our 12 week old son with us. He called my cousin to come with us because "he didn't want to be alone if we broke down". Then my cousin invited 3 of his friends to come with us...(calling my cousin raised flag number 1 but the extra friends...flag number 2) My husband didn't know about the friends though so he says. So I was excited but also skeptical. Turns out I had good reason. His idea of a snowy mountain was rocky terrain. We had to go through a stream and a huge load of big rocks and then it was a long and rocky trail! Not even that much snow. I told him he lied to me and he denied it. He said that he told me that there was a rocky trail. (he did tell me that but implied that it wasn't what I thought which was a 4 wheeling trail...my husband likes to go 4 wheeling by the way, which is why I was skeptical) I have been very firm in the past in saying that I didn't want our son to go 4 wheeling with him, especially at this age. Turns out, also, that the 3 friends were drinking and driving, again, my husband didn't know about them or the fact that they would do that but still made matters worse. He keeps saying sorry that he ruined the day for me because I thought it was going to be romantic but I don't know what to think. He says he didn't think much about the fact that there were a lot of rocks and didn't realize he was lying to me. He denies manipulating me altogether. Should I believe him? What do I do? This hasn't ever happened before.

Can't sleep... can't eat.?

I hv this problem for 2 weeks now. My sleep is very erratic, & no matter how much my stomach is growling, I just can't seem to hv any appetite to eat. & when I do force myself to eat, I'll just take a few spoons. Last night I had a break down and cried myself to sleep, which is the 1st decent sleep I had in 2 weeks. Went to the doctor this morning and explained my condition, but he did not say anything much, besides giving me some gastric pills and multi vitamin pills. I am sure with a job like that you have some vacation time coming your way..just moderate your time with work and fun..like when you get out of work ask a few of your friends if they wanna go to a bar or something for a few drinks..trust me I bet they wish they had your job and money......I think it is great that you have such a great job most people don`t get jobs like that until they are alot older...by the time you are 45 you can retire with a full pension while some of them will still be working. you have a lot of life ahead of you so just live it as you want and call in sick a few times a year ;) And yes you are right to think this because it is in human nature to think that you are missing out on life. Your friend is absolutely right. The medication will not cure you. They are a band-aid to reduce the severity of your symptoms. A therapist gets to the root of the problem. It is understandable that facing your problems is frightening. It's like opening a can of worms. However, if you truly want to heal you must take responsibility for yourself. It may be difficult but it is worth the journey. Therapy cured everything I had to deal with that years of meds did nothing for. The important thing is to ready yourself. Try talking into a mirror, opening up to your reflection. Once you are ready, make an appointment. Don't feel that this is a one doctor, once chance deal. You ,ay have to try out a few until you find the right chemistry. Once you do it's like talking to a friend. You don't have to open up all at once. You can take it as slowly and as comfortably as you wish. It does involve keeping an open mind, a willingness to grow and change and the security of knowing it will not hurt you, but rather improve you, your life and your overall health. Try writing a journal about these issues that scare you so, that have your defenses so high. It can be a very rewarding experience. You are scared of the unknown. Give it a chance and you might be surprised there's nothing to worry about after all.

Ok so here it is. I am a full time grad student. I found out I was pregnant after my trimester of cles began. Once I found I was pregnant I started to experience some difficulties, we had to decide whether to follow through with a medically necessary abortion and I was under alot of stress. At this point I was working full time, taking care of a toddler, maintaining a full course load as well as dealing with my medical issues. I had missed a lecture and wasn't sure how many more I would miss due to this and pulled my professor aside and explained straight out my situation to her. I asked her if I should drop her cl or would she be willing to work with me. I was very up front. She told me to continue in the cl, and that so long as I kept her updated and worked along with my ignments I would be fine she would work with me. So after a million appointments and much despair we chose to continue with pregnancy but to tread lightly. Last night I go in to perform my final, and she informs me I missed a test that was not in the syllabus, however it was weighted enough that I would not be able to p the class without the grade and that she was "not inclined" to allow me to make it up due to the fact she felt I needed to own up to a level of "personal responsibility!!!" I am furious and want to contact the Dean. I worked my as* off in that class, which she cancelled half the time, only to have her tell me the last night I would fail?!! I could have dropped and not been penalized months earlier had she not pressed me to continue. I wasted my money as well as my GPA standing will now have a failing grade weighted. I am so upset, I feel like she chose me to choose class over my child, and this from a Master's holder in social worker. Should I report this? Am I wrong in my thinking?

Terrible Familey Tragedy, Any Coping strategies that could help?

On Septtember 10,2009 our son Kevin took his own life when he stole his grandfathers pistol and shot himself due to him being severly bullied. He was being bullied severly throughout all of elementary and I let him switch schools which didnt help. I talked to teachers nothing would help. I said it would gradually go away when he entered highschool but it got worse as the days went on. I saw him come home on days he would just be upset in his room listening to sad music. There would be days where I would cry myself because of what he was going through. We tried seeking a counceller but nothing helped. As I came home from a hard day of work after picking up my wife from work as well we found our son dead in the living room with his grandfathers pistol in his hand. He wrote a letter writing all the names of the bullies which were the "popular kids, Jocks/cheerleaders" as he reffered to them as. We are devastated by this tragedy and want to take some action on this. We have extremly fallen in a state of depression. Please suggest some coping strategies as my wife and me will be gratefull.
