Most pediatricians suggest starting solids at about 5 1/2 to 6 months because it has been shown that babies have underdeveloped digestive tracts and solid food is more difficult for them to process. In most countries outside the united states feeding is the encouraged form of food until 12 months or later. You should always go with the mommy instinct if you see your child is satisfied with the milk that dont rush it if you notice that he is hungry and doctor okayed cereal than give one or two little spoons a go.
