Blacks acting white or "Ackin or Soundin white"?

Let me tell you a story that happened a few years back in Baltimore I was leaving a store on my way home after work when a young man in his 20's asked me for some change. So, I gave him a dollar and some change he asked me what I did for a living. I told him I was a nurse he wrinkled his nose and said "I'm not doing the White Man's work.". Without a reply I wet on my way. Nothing illustrates better the disconnect we as a people have. Here is a guy who would rather panhandle for money than work and is disgusted that I do work. In the future I do want to do some mentoring, but for many people of our community it is not worth the time. Too many of us want to reject education, working, and it needs to change somehow, someway.
