Would this be rude----?

A friend called me Saturday. We talked for some time. Towards the end of the conversation my phone was getting low on the battery. I told him my phone was getting low. He asked me to call him later that day. I did not want to talk to him, I was tired at the time he asked to be called. Other times I'll call his cell: a) he does not have the phone on. b)He does not even bother answering his phone. c) He rides with thi lady, who is a truck driver and he tends to talk to her at the same time he is talking to me.
