At what age can a married woman get her tubes tied, and at what age can a married man get a vasectomy?

There is no "official" age, but it's actually much more difficult for a woman to get her tubes tied than a man to get a vasectomy. It depends on the doctor firstly, but those doctors....The ongoing thought from what I've gathered through my childfree friends is they want you to be at least 25 with at least one child from your current partner. Since you're married, that means at least one child from your husband (any children you have from previous relationships don't count in this equation). A 24 year old friend of mine with one child from her husband and 3 miscarriages (there was something wrong with her body, she couldn't carry any more) asked her doctor, he said she was too young, she'd change her mind, and what if her husband wanted another? Her 24 year old husband went to his doctor, and had no problems getting a vasectomy.
