Myanmar…are we doing the wrong thing by providing aid?

The government is confiing and relabeling the boxes and using their own military to distribute the supplies in an attempt to make it seem like the aid is coming straight from the government. By allowing them to do this, are we just ensuring the survival of their oppressive regime? Perhaps we (and everyone else) should cut off all aid and let the ‘survivors’ overthrow the government (the biggest threat to any government is desperate people with nothing else left to lose). I know it sounds harsh but isn’t that better than helping the government solidify its position so that countless future generations can be oppressed as well?
