Homemade ferret food?

Okay, I love my little fuzzies, and I've tried a lot of different ferret foods, trying to find the best. My vet recommended that I give them wellness core, and they seem to like it ,as does my cat. Its nice, since I'm not always having to defend the ferret food from her,but there are still fillers in the food (admittedly, much less than other foods). I'm very interested in feeding them homemade food, but I'm having trouble finding recipes. everything I find seems to be a variation on duck soup, but I'd love to give them some variety. any suggestions?
